Branding and Identity of Designgoat, an industrial design collective including friends - Ahmad Fakhry and Cian Corcoran. The Identity included the Design of a logotype, full website including all Designgoat work, full stationery, clothes tag, branding iron and promotional materials. For this identity I have also done a product photoshoot, along with a photoshoot of the designers themselves, this also included a small interview to put on the website and their promotional items.

The two most important issues I wanted to tackle in this identity were quite evident from the start. One was to make sure their promotional materials really show off the collective’s work to enhance their profile. Another aspect was to make their identity feel very hands on (representing them as designers), this I have portrayed by using a hand embosser and hand debosser.

Please visit the Designgoat website, I have designed and coded here:

This project was a re-brand of an already existing brand for Wilton Candy Company. The idea was to re-brand it in the way of keeping the ‘old-school’ feel of the brand itself, but giving it a fresh contemporary design that would bring in a new generation fan basis. Using Motif and colour combinations along with characters, the re-brand was aimed at children today, but it was important also not to stray too far from the original designs.

I have kept aspects of the original design by using the original colours and wide use of logotype within the designs. Each type of chocolate bar, has a slightly altered logo, this is reminiscent of the area in which most people said that they had these bars when they were kids. With these designs I won a cash prize and got the chance to show my designs to the company owner and talk to her about a further production.

Visual Communication Degree show Yearbook 2011.
The Yearbook is an 80 page book that involved a double page spread on each student. On these double page spreads were the students titles for project a, project b, the students thesis title and their contact details. Our sponsor ‘Noreast’ generously gave us part funding for the Yearbook, the rest of the funding came from the Fund-Raiser I set up in Grand Social, in which I made promo packs and sent to all design studios around Dublin (which included a poster and free ticket, above left). The Yearbook involved a photoshoot and art direction for each student and tutor, which was done by myself in the photo studio in college over 3 days.

I have used a fluorescent ink (Pantone 812u) to highlight different areas of the book, along with using a very beautiful typeface ‘Fishmonger’ in various different weights throughout the book. The book will be sent out to all different design studios in Dublin, to promote the graduating students of Viscomm NCAD.

This is a selection of logos and logotypes I have designed over the last two years. Within the selection are logo’s for nightclubs, events, record labels, attractions and product identity logotypes.

These illustrations were a personal work of mine involving the letters: A- anatomy, B- breakfast and C- for the sea. The pieces also involved characters of my friends, Jessica Murphy, Laura Peel, Robert Conroy and Acky Fakhry. They were first produced and printed from illustrator and then hand cut and stuck with foam stickers of different heights to be set on different layers to give a 3d affect, this gave the illustrations depth.
